Valentine's Day: my FIRST ever!

So, I have the best fiancĂ© ever! Weird and hilarious but best. So for Valentine's Mason planned a surprise.  Earlier that day he asked if I would be free at 5:30 and then he asked if I could bring a grungy t-shirt for the activity ... Weird? Yes! :)

So, at 5:30 he comes in and gives me the most beautiful pink roses.  They were the loveliest, most fragrant pink roses ever. (Blast my forgetfulness! I didn't take a picture). It was super cute because Mason pointed out that he brought me a bouquet that came with a cute vase because I didn't have one; whenever he would bring me flowers before I would have to put them in an old molasses bottle b/c I didn't have a vase.  What a thoughtful handsome man! :)

Then he said we would have to head out for dinner.  When asked where we would go he said he couldn't tell me but that it would be somewhere I could choose from variety of food.  (Buffet?)  He did say that it was pretty corny, I may be embarrassed, but it would be memorable. Well, after a few minutes we pulled up into the mall parking lot, outside the food court.  Whaaaaaaaaaaaa?

So, we go in, pick our food (Sbarro Pizza) and sit down.  When I sat down, Mason says "Time for decoration!!!"  He then whips out a box of conversation hearts and scatters them around the table and on our plates.  Then he pulls out two candles and:

Then we had a lovely dinner, enjoyed some hilarious looks, and laughed a TON!

Following dinner we went to his apartment and then painted shirts!  Mine had "M&M est. 05.14.11" and Mason's said "I <3 MO" (the I love NY style).  My camera died, though so I don't have pictures of that.  But it was a TON of fun and made me realize that Mas is truly my bestest friend and I can't wait to be married to him for time and all eternity.  It will be an eternity of laughs and jokes.

After such an enjoyable time of laughs and bliss T.O.M decided to hit full force. Yuck.  It was kinda painful, so Mason turned on LOST, let me lie down on the couch and pushed on my stomache to help with the cramps.  I'm telling ya, He's a keeper!

Happy Lovey Dovey day!

Days 3 & 4

Oops, I missed a day - but I have a REALLY good excuse! I was throwing Mason a surprise birthday party last night.  Everything went wrong but it was actually the funnest party ever! I was thrilled :) But, anyway on to the 30 day thing.

Day 3: A picture of you and friends
*Amber* Jessica (Joakes)* Hayley* me * Stephanie*
I decided to post this picture because these are some of the sweetest, adorable, and hilarious group of girls I know.  These ladies are my co-workers at BYU Broadcasting Member Services (minus Stephanie D.  She was at important meetings and so missed the picture - sad face!).  I am just so blessed to have this job so I can work with these girls every day and become such good friends with them.  I feel that if I ever need anything, they will do anything to help.  I just love them oodles!

Day 4: A habit you wish you didn't have
I wish being so awesome wasn't a burden.  Just jokes, just jokes.  I mean I am quite awesome but that's not the habit I wish I didn't have.  So, here goes.

I am actually going to be saying 2 habits but they are related by cause and effect.  1. I wish I didn't procrastinate so much, and then get so self conscious about being behind that I don't ask for help.  2. I wish I exercised.  I hate people seeing how out of shape I am due to my habit of putting off exercise and then becoming embarrassed.

New Year's resolutions? I think YES!!!

Day Two

Day Two: The meaning behind your Blog Name
Well, it depends on which Blog Name, so I will give a rundown of each.

1. Just Call me Monica Darling:  To those of you who do not know this, I was (cough, cough) am quite dramatic and spunky.  The story that perfectly relates these characteristics is entitled Monica Darling.  I insisted that everyone call me by my true name, Monica Darling, ignoring any other names.  My family tried addressing me but,oh dear, if they called me Monica or (heaven forbid) Mo, I refused to respond.  They would talk to the back of a short, chunky lil girl with an underbite until calling me Monica Darling.  So, the message of the story: If you want my undivided attention "Just Call Me Monica Darling".

2.  The (future) Payne Parade:  So, as mentioned in my earlier post, I am engaged and will become Mrs. Payne.  That day is still 5 months away, but seeing as it took me about a year before updating my blog, I figured I would go ahead and change the name in case the hiatus returned.  Also, I chose Payne Parade b/c the last name Payne doesn't exactly sound super happy, in fact it kinda sounds like "pain"(yes, that was meant to be a silly comment).  To make it happier I went with the alliteration trend in titles - P.P. - and added Parade to the end, b/c who doesn't love a good parade?  Candy, family, community, corny floats, etc.  Sounds pretty perfect to me!

So, there you go!

Hiatus Solved! (DAY 1)

I think I may have found a solution to my blog hiatus.  I got the idea from my sister's sister in law and I thought this would break my bad habit.  What will happen is, every day for 30 days I will blog about a silly little prompt.  I hope that with this activity I will get into the blogging habit.  So, here goes.

DAY ONE: A recent picture of you and 15 interesting facts about yourself
This is a picture my honey took of me while on a picnic up in the canyon

1.   Whenever I watch movies/tv I have to be doing something with my hands.    That's why I picked up cross-stitching again.
2.  Rain makes me abnormally happy, while snow instantly makes me grumpy
3.  I make the most delicious, bit sized gingersnaps in the world.  They're kind of my specialty.
4.  I just learned how to water ski this summer - after several failed attempts I succeeded!
5. Diet Mountain Dew is delicious
6. My nephews (3 plus one on the way) and nieces (2) are the cutest and I love them tons!!!!
7. I am an English major but I abhor writing and I am no good at it.
8. (This is getting hard coming up with 15 fun facts)
9. My fiance, who doesn't like dogs, and I have a deal:  I can have a dog as long as he doesn't have to clean, feed, walk, or train it. So... I'm getting a puppy eventually!!!
10. I have an irrational fear of bloody noses
11. I could read allllll day - books include Hunger Games, Harry Potters, A Christmas Carol, Ella Enchanted, To Kill a Mockingbird, etc. The list goes on!
12.  I have this weird issue with missing even a split second of a movie or tv show I've never seen - channel surfing KILLS me!
13.  As a child I had the biggest under bite.  I looked like my old bulldog, Hattie. Attractive, I know.
14. I love painting my nails, but (due to my perfectionist tendencies) if I get a teeny smudge I HAVE to start all over.
15. And, saving the best for last, I am ENGAGED! His name is Mason and is the best thing that has ever happened to me.  We are getting married May 14th in the Oklahoma City Temple.

I don't know what the problem is and am in need of some help. If anyone knows what to do can you....I guess email me (b/c the comment thing isn't working!) mizzmo@gmail.com.
OH, and how do you guys put pictures up at the top on your blog title? It's so cute and I just love the effect. It's like "BAM! Here I am!!!" Nice :)

"I feel marinated...in COLOR"

HARE KRISHNA!
A couple of weeks ago my roommates and I went to the Indian temple down in Spanish Fork for their little Festival of Colors. I don't really know what the history of it is but in essence, you get to throw colored chalk at people!!! Cool, eh?!?

Here we are when we're nice and clean at the top of the Temple
Rachel, Nicole, Yours Truly, and Allie

LLAMAS! I love llamas and have always wanted one.
So, I was thrilled that I could pet and feed these doofers.
They were so good and didn't even attempt to spit on me once. BUT,
my roommate, Allie, didn't have the same luxury.
As soon as she got about a foot away (She wouldn't go any closer)
The llama sneezed on her...and it was chunky...Poor lil Allie!
(P.S. I laughed until I about peed my pants! I'm just a good friend, I guess)

After the colorful dust cloud settled...

Nicole and Rachel!
(Before the ceremony actually started, they kept saying to Al and me,
"You're too clean!!!!"
and then followed by throwing chalk at us! )

CHALKY HOTTIES!

All of our white articles of clothing are now permanently pink!

This is seriously the coolest thing EVER. If you can, you should seriously attend! But, be sure to bring something to cover your mouth and nose. If you don't, you will have slight difficulty in breathing and a horrid taste in your mouth during the chalk throw. It also makes your throat dry out, making you wish you had brought that water bottle on the table along. The side effects continue. You may notice a change in your snot. Instead of the healthy clear (or green-ish if you are sick) color, it will be purple....which makes it very awkward when you blow your nose in public...
